A win for the Red Team is still a win for the Black Team as everyone wins at Hoops for Hope, an annual basketball fundraising event to be held in the Johnson Gym on Thursday, November 2, 2017,  at 7 p.m. Tickets are $4 at the door.

LHS junior Taylor Beechman is the head of the committee for Hoops for Hope and a member of Student Council, which sponsors the event.

“Our overall goal is to raise money and awareness for the Make-A-Wish Foundation,” Beechman said. “While giving the school and community a chance to come together and have a good time.”

Every single penny put into the Hoops for Hope is sent straight to the Make a Wish Foundation that supports wishes for children and adults so that they get what they most desire while also facing life threatening diseases.

There are two teams competing consisting of teachers that attend Lincoln High. The Red Team is coached by senior Zion Perry and senior Nyagoa Gony.

“Our team is prepared,” Gony said.  “We’re playing for great cause, and with that, we’re playing to win.”
