Lincoln Public Schools has canceled all classes and activities for Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 due to a wind chill advisory issued by the National Weather Service.

According to the NWS, we can expect wind chills from 15 below zero to around 30 below zero in eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa Monday night and into Tuesday morning.

Frostbite can occur to exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes, and hypothermia is also possible. The NWS recommends that everyone wear hat and gloves if you need to be outside for any length of time.

The wind chill advisory will be in effect until noon on Tuesday.
