Teachers helped themselves to some welcome sustenance provided by the LHS Booster Club Wednesday night, February 27, 2019 before Parent/Teacher Conferences.

Conferences were moved to this night after a snow day canceled school on the originally scheduled day last Wednesday.

Pizza, salad, and a variety of dessert sweets were laid out in the Teachers Lounge from 3:05 – 4 p.m.

Conferences were scheduled from 4- 7 p.m., leaving teachers no time to have dinner before meeting with parents.

The LHS Booster Club always has something to get teachers through the night, and it is greatly appreciated.

“Even though they had made arrangements for last week (which ended up being lunch for two days in a row), the LHS Booster Club still wanted to make sure that our staff was fed tonight,” Family & Community Engagement Specialist Dustin Oltman said.

With the advent of Synergy, the district’s online grading and communications software which is accessible to parents, attendance at conferences over the years has declined. But for some parents, the ability to have a face-to-face conversation with their child’s teacher is too important to pass up.
