Good morning Lincoln High! Welcome to LINKS LIVE! The Lincoln High Morning News Show!

Everyone interested in Wrestling there will be a Mandatory Hydration Test on 11/12/19 in the Athletic Training Room at 2:15pm.  If you have any questions please talk to Coach Genrich.

 

Any boy wishing to tryout for Boys Basketball will need to complete Athletic Skills Testing either Monday Wednesday beginning at 3:10 pm in the weight room. IF YOU DO NOT COMPLETE ATHLETIC SKILLS TESTING YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO TRYOUT MONDAY, NOVEMBER 18TH

 

“Hi!  I’m Mr. Droud, one of the Huddle Leaders for Lincoln High’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  Today is the deadline for Weekend of Champions. If you’re interested in going, we need to know that today.

 

Heads UP! The next Thursday there will NOT BE After School Opportunities due to Parent Teacher Conferences on November 14th. Our Thursday groups will return November 21st!

 

All boys interested in playing soccer who are not out for a winter sport should attend an informational meeting on Friday, 11/8/19, after school at 3:15pm in the Athletic Conference Room. We will discuss off-season opportunities. Be on time.  If you have questions or cannot attend please see Coach Cerny in room 113. 

 

Attention Seniors! If you’re planning on attending SCC and interested in touring the campus, be sure to take advantage of the Learn to Dream Senior Day on Tuesday, November 12th. This field trip is for seniors who qualify for the Learn to Dream Scholarship. If you haven’t already, turn in your application ASAP! The field trip will be from 8:30-1:30, and transportation is by school bus. The jump code to register is O9BU. Please be sure to pick up a copy of the parent permission form in the Counseling Center. They are DUE THURSDAY, 11/7/19. Be sure to check your email regularly for reminders and updates! Any questions, please see Ms. Nguyen in the Counseling Center.

 

“Hello fellow nerds on Friday, November 15th the LHS D&D club will be hosting the second annual Dungeons and Dollars in the Media Center from 4:30pm to 11:59pm. If you are interested in attending the cost is $7 at the door. The cost will include a random character sheet based on what character class you want and dinner. If you are interested please fill out the google form by entering the code ‘YTPP’

And now here’s an announcement from Student Council

“I’m Juliana Quattrocchi on behalf of your friendly neighborhood Student Council. Do you know what’s just ONE week from today? Hoops 4 Hope 2019! It’s time to choose sides. Red team. Black team. Who will you be cheering for next Friday? The red team players are: Josh Lupher, Dominique Kelley, Nick Madsen, Anthony Schmidt, Mariah Wailes, Seth Sharpe, Mark Larson, and Chris Simley. They will be coached by Davis Buchanan and Nyayian Koang. Their cheerleader is Carol Flora. The black team players are: Mar’Lakuittia Overstreet, Trey Anderson, David Juiliano, Chris Turley, Trevor Leiting, Noah Ross, Maria Mendez, and Dan Noble. They will be coached by Jaxson Barber and Nyayongah Gony. Deborah McGinn is their cheerleader. Numerous other teachers are teaming up with the Pom-a-Links to present a very special Tik-Tok inspired routine. Who will you support? The show down begins at 7:00 pm in the Johnson gym. Tickets are just $5 with proceeds going to the Make a Wish Foundation which grants wishes to children with critical illnesses. Teachers and staff members: It is not too late to sign up to play or cheer. We’d love to have another staff member or two play on each team. Use the jump code Y2GU to sign up!

 

Do YOU want to be a part of your friendly neighborhood student council and contribute to events like Hoops 4 Hope, Homecoming, Prom, and the Respect Campaign? Then apply to join Student Council second semester! Applications will be available starting on Monday, the jump code will be released on Links Live and @LHStucOfficial, and are due by November 26th, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving break. If you have any questions, then talk to anyone of your Student Council members or our sponsors: Shelly Schwartz and Carter Hulinski. The names of StuCo members can be found on the Student Council website, a link is under the student tab on the LHS home page, and on our social media. 

 

Beginning next week, we will have featured Student Council members of the week to inform you about who’s in StuCo and what we’re doing. We’ll see you next Friday at Hoops 4 Hope at 7 pm in the Johnson gym. Go links!

 

Reminder that the LHS Ping Pong Tournament will be TONIGHT at 7:00 P.M. in the East Balcony of Johnson Gym. The cost is $3 to play individually (singles),  $4 to play as a team (doubles), and $6 each to play both doubles and singles. 

See Carter in the Media Center to sign up. Sign-ups will be November 4th through November 7th. We will not be doing sign-ups on the day of the event. We hope to see you there!

 

And now here’s an announcement from HOSA

Margaux: Hi I’m Margaux Cruz, President of the LHS HOSA chapter  

Hassan: And I’m Hassan Almusawy, the HOSA Vice President 

Margaux: We’re here to tell you that NEXT week is the start of HOSA Week.     

Hassan: HOSA is hosting a spirit week, but with a twist. Everyday is associated with a color that helps support a cause, such as brain cancer, breast cancer, etc. 

Margaux: On average, every TWO minutes, someone is diagnosed with brain cancer. And 1 out of the 7 will face a mortality risk. Affecting not only the person, but their family and friends. 

Hassan: To help raise awareness, and support the cause. Monday, after the break is breast cancer awareness day! So wear pink!
