English After school Resource Center – ARC – meets TODAY – and every Monday and Wednesday – in Room #316 with Ms. Rennings from 3:15 – 4:15. There are also ARC sessions for art, business, math, science, social studies, and world language classes, too. Get the help you need to meet your academic goals from Lincoln High teachers! See you there!

Hello my name is Jena and I’m Riada and here is your Black History Fact of the Day.
According to History.com Josephine Baker was an African American dancer who followed African themes and styles becoming one of the most sought-after performers due to her distinct dancing style and unique costumes. During World War II, Baker joined the fight against the Nazi when Adolf Hitler and the German army invaded France. She aided French military officials by passing on secrets she heard while performing in front of the enemy. She transported the confidential information by writing with invisible ink on music sheets. When she returned to the U.S. she often refused to perform for segregated audiences, which usually forced club owners to integrate for her shows.
Thanks From African American Caucus Club!

Here’s another fantastic announcement from Fellowship of Christian Athletes! Many years ago a band named Three Dog Night sang a song where the opening lyrics went like this: “One is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do.” It may be this band’s song, but the words are true for most everyone because it IS lonely to be by yourself. That’s why in tomorrow morning’s FCA meeting, we’ll discuss how we can have “Strength in Numbers” and where we can find it. The fun starts at 7:15 in Room 402, so don’t be late!

“The Lincoln Community Foundation offers student scholarships of all sorts. The LHS Art Department would specifically like to remind students that there are 3 scholarships related to art: the PINC Scholarship, the Haymarket Gallery Emerging Arts Scholarship, and the Jane T. Anderson Scholarship. Currently, no one has applied to 2 of the 3 scholarships…art students, don’t lose out on this opportunity!
