Students be aware the ACT is on its way! Tuesday, April 3, 2018 is ACT Testing for the LHS Juniors. There will be no School for 9th, 10th and 12th graders on that day. But there is no need to fear for there are many prep options for students that will be taking the test. These include; ACT online prep, ACT practice tests, and ACT workshops and many more.
ACT online prep is free for LHS Juniors until the end of October 2018, but LHS Seniors only have a few more months of free use. ACT Practice tests are useful and should be considered as well. “These can help you understand how the ACT operates and help you do your best” Previous ACT taker, Rachel Balter said. A third option is workshops. These do cost a fee of about $125 but for those who qualify for free or reduced lunch the fee is adjusted. And finally there is Education quest. “EducationQuest provides free college planning services, need-based scholarship programs, college access grants for high schools, college access resources for middle schools. and outreach services for community agencies,” their website says.
Do keep in mind that there are many ways to prepare for the ACT and that you are not limited to these three options. For more information about these options and the ACT go to http://lhs.lps.org/detail.html?id=12404
