LinksLive! The LHS News Broadcast 8/21/19

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 21, 2019

Attention girls interested in playing soccer this year.  There will be a short information meeting after school on Thursday, 8/22/19 in Coach Fargo’s room (S331).

TONIGHT is the Lincoln High Link UP event, from 6-7pm, followed by Open House, from 7-8:30pm. Open House is a great opportunity for students and families to connect with Lincoln High teachers, staff, and community partners!

During Open House the Links Booster Club board members will be offering a hot dog, chips and a drink for $3. The Links Gear Store will be open and board members will be there to tell you how to get involved.

The Boosters are also looking for volunteers to work concessions at Memorial Stadium for Husker home football games this season. Please go to lhslinks.org for more information and to sign up.

If you have an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics or are looking to have a future in STEM, there is a four-day trip this summer to Boston to get

hands-on experiences including robotics and activities in MIT’s labs. Students and parents/guardians are invited to an informational meeting on Thursday, that’s tomorrow, at 6:30pm in room S233.

Chromebook won’t turn on? Broke your Chromebook screen? Is your Chromebook, already, lost or stolen? The Media Center has the answers and help for you. All Chromebook related questions, issues, or problems will now be handled in the Media Center for the remainder of the school year.

Club Sign Up will be happening next week! Monday August 26th through Friday August 30th. Go to the LHS Home Page to browse the clubs that are available and to sign up. These are for the Clubs that meet during the day on the first Tuesday of the month. You are able to sign up for 2 clubs, but only 2 clubs. Thank you!

Greetings Lincoln High! Here’s another nifty announcement from Fellowship of Christian Athletes!

Meetings begin next week and they’ll be going “old school” this year; FCA will meet on Tuesday mornings at 7:15 in Room 402. More to come next week!

If you enjoy singing and being a member of a performing ensemble, you can register for Mixed Chorus or Concert Choir! Mixed Choir is generally for 9th and 10th graders, and Concert Choir consists of 11th and 12th graders. Both sections are open to all grade levels at this time.

Did you know?? Singing for at least 50 minutes a day reduces stress, clears sinuses, improves your posture, and helps you live a longer and healthier life!?

LHS has several performance highlights this year in the vocal music department: collaboration with the American Spiritual Ensemble, Collaboration with UNL Choirs at their Spring Concert, a professionally recorded performance at the Holland Performing Arts Center, Bass and Treble Choirs featured at UNL vocal festivals, and many honor choir opportunities! Please stop by room 130 and meet Mr. Hoefling  for more information.
