Good morning, Lincoln High! Welcome to LINKS LIVE!, The Lincoln High Morning News Show.  

 

I’m Jacob Vanderford, and I’m Avalena Baird. 

 

Seniors, if you’re applying to NHS this fall, the APPLICATION DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL FRIDAY,   SEPTEMBER 6TH. They’re due electronically and no late applications will be accepted. Visit the jump code YWPB to go directly to the application homepage with all the things you’ll need to submit. If you have any questions, please see Mr. West in room 335 or contact Ava Baird or any other NHS officer.

 

Work Experience Students: your contracts are due to Ms. Carlson by Thursday, Aug. 29 that’s tomorrow. Please bring your contract to room 207 and pick up your packet. Again, work experience contracts are due tomorrow.

 

Club Sign Up is already underway and goes through Friday August 30th. Go to the LHS Home Page AND CLICK ON THE CLUBS LINK UNDER THE ACTIVITIES TAB. You are able to sign up for 2 clubs, but only 2 clubs.  THE FIRST CLUB DAY WILL BE TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17TH. 

 

TODAY from 3:15pm to 5:15pm in room 130, the choir room, the Dungeons and Dragons club will have their first meeting. Anyone interested in playing Dungeons and Dragons should plan on attending. If you have any questions feel free to email Brett Noser at bnoser@lps.org

 

Are you interested in making a change in the lives of those most impacted by issues of gender inequality, sexual and domestic violence, and discrimination? Join Feminists for Change club. They meet each club day in room 101 during 5th period after A lunch. Want more information? Contact club sponsor Nancy Grant-Colson.

Think you know how to STEP? Lincoln High is bringing the PEP back to STEP with the new Step Chain starting Thursday September 19th. Stop by Ms. Overstreet’s room 136A or room 400 during 7th period; You can also contact her via email at moverstr@lps.org

 

Have you heard of the LHS Key Club? They focus on serving our community and developing strong leaders. They have volunteered at the Center for People in Need, Foster Care Closet and are the sponsors of the yearly Trunk or Treat event serving the local elementary students.  Join this week by going to the clubs link on the LHS homepage under the activities tab.

 

And now here’s an announcement from our Student Council:

 

Anyone that is not out for a Fall Sport and is interested in Wrestling please come to a short meeting tomorrow, Thursday August 29th at 3:15 in room 129. If you have any questions please contact Coach Genrich.

 

Are you looking for volunteer hours? Supporting LHS Boosters at the UNL Concessions is a great way to get hours fast! You must be 16 or older to assist.

– Homework Zone including English, Science & Math tutoring meeting in the Media Center

 

All students MUST Be in a supervised activity by 3:15pm. You will need a pass if arriving after this time. Once students leave the building, they will not be able to reenter.

Lemon Chicken on Brown Rice, Stuffed Crust Pepperoni Pizza, Nebraska Bun, or a Chef Salad

The MEATLESS ENTRÉE is a Black Bean & Rice Bowl or Meatless Chef Salad

with a Roll
