Good morning, Lincoln High! Welcome to LINKS LIVE! 

The Lincoln High Morning News Show.

Work Experience Students: your contracts are due to Ms. Carlson TODAY. Please bring your contract to room 207 and pick up your packet. 

 

Club Sign Up ENDS TOMORROW!  Go to the LHS Home Page AND CLICK ON THE CLUBS LINK UNDER THE ACTIVITIES TAB to sign up. You are able to sign up for 2 clubs, but only 2 clubs.  THE FIRST CLUB DAY WILL BE TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17TH.

 

Are you interested in making a change in the lives of those most impacted by issues of gender inequality, sexual and domestic violence, and discrimination? Join Feminists for Change club. They meet each club day in room 101 during 5th period after A lunch. Want more information? Contact club sponsor Nancy Grant-Colson.

 

Have you heard of the LHS Key Club? They focus on serving our community and developing strong leaders. They have volunteered at the Center for People in Need, Foster Care Closet and are the sponsors of the yearly Trunk or Treat event serving the local elementary students. Join this week by going to the clubs link on the LHS homepage under the activities tab  

 

Anyone that is not out for a Fall Sport and is interested in Wrestling please come to a short meeting today at 3:15 in room 129. If you have any questions please contact Coach Genrich.

 

And here’s an announcement from the Lincoln High Swim and Dive Team:

Attention all Lincoln High students, beginning on Wednesday, September 4th, And every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday afterwards the Lincoln High Swimming and Diving Team will be hosting the “The Power Hour,” in the Lincoln High Swimming Pool.What is the “The Power Hour” you ask? “The Power Hour” is an opportunity for you to raise your fitness to a higher level through intense exercise. Exercises will consist of calisthenics, running, lap swimming, and weight training.Best of all, the power Hour is open to all Lincoln High students who are not currently out for a fall sport or activity. So if you are ready to improve yourself, and get in excellent shape, be at the pool Wednesday, September 4th at 3:15, with your running shoes, shorts, and swim suit and be ready to work! Now to Tyler Schumacher with LHS Sports:

This jam packed Labor Day weekend in sports includes Girls Golf playing at Highlands Golf Course in the LHS scramble event as we speak. 
Tonight we have Boys Tennis against North Star at 4pm at the Woods Tennis Center. 
Softball has a double header against Northeast at Doris Bair starting at 5pm. 
Freshman, Reserve, JV and Varsity Volleyball will face the Southeast Knights tonight here at Lincoln High with Varsity starting at 6:30. 
Tomorrow, Links Football will host the number 1 ranked team in Class A, Bellevue West, at 7pm at Beechner Field. The team has requested noise from the student section, and a lot of it. It’s a Blackout. 
On Saturday we have Boys Tennis at Woods Tennis Center at 8am for the Northeast/Lincoln High Invite, Cross Country is on the road at Norris, and Volleyball is partaking in an Invitational at Norfolk. 
And on Labor Day, JV Football will be taking the long bus ride to North Star to play at 5pm.

Today’s After school Opportunities:

– Yezidi Program meets in Room 100L

– HOSA – Future Health Professionals is in Room S133 

– Homework Zone including Science and Math tutoring is in the Media Center

All students MUST Be in a supervised activity by 3:15pm. You will need a pass if arriving after this time. Once students leave the building, they will not be able to reenter.

 

Are you interested in becoming a teacher?  Do you wonder what it would be like to work with elementary students?  Do you think you have what it takes to teach in a Jr. or Sr High? If so, please join the Educators Rising Club.  We will meet on club days during 6th period and will also be participating in a leadership conference, community activities and competitions.  Sign up on the LHS page today!

 

Discover a World of Opportunity by joining the Future Business Leaders of America club!  FBLA will meet in Room 216 on Club days during 3rd period. See Mrs. Bonnie Anderson in the Business Department if you have questions.
