African American Caucus has a field trip coming up for Seniors Only. The Fall Black Leadership Symposium at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is on November 6th. If you are interested in going to this great event please email Miss Overstreet or locate her in room 136B periods 5-6 or after school. You will have until Oct. 4th to decide if you would like to attend The Black Leadership Symposium. Thank you!
Seniors! Next week are our APPLY2College Days! Have you signed up? We will have Admissions Counselors here from colleges from all over the state of Nebraska. Oct. 1- Nebraska PUBLIC 4-year colleges, Oct. 2-Nebraska PRIVATE 4-year Colleges, Oct. 3-Community Colleges. From 1-4th periods each day. You can come for 1 period each day if needed. “Registration for the PSAT is OPEN!
IF YOU ARE A JUNIOR, PLANNING TO ATTEND A 4-YEAR COLLEGE AFTER GRADUATION, THIS IS FOR YOU! The PSAT will be administered on Saturday, October 19, 2019. This only happens once a year. This test is designed specifically for juniors planning to attend a 4-year college.
Reasons you might want to take the PSAT:
- to practice for the “real” admissions tests (SAT and ACT),
- to get information about how your skills in critical reading, math reasoning, and writing,
- to compare to other students who plan to go to a 4-year college
- Or to enter the National Merit Scholarship Competition.
Register by doing the following:
- Filling out the Google Form at Jump Code BDYX
- Paying $25 via Synergy or directly to Kim Loth in 200R (the bookkeeper’s office)
- Going to the Counseling Center to receive your ticket for admission and the PSAT Student Guide and Practice Test
You must have your registration complete by Friday, October 11th to be able to test. Space is limited.

– Magic the Gathering meeting in Room 104
– Hip Hop Dance Collective meeting in the Cafeteria
– Young Women’s Business Leadership meeting in Room 102
– and Homework Zone in the Media Center
– CityLight High has been cancelled for the time being and Joven Noble [HO-VEN NO-BLAY] will not be offered as an after school activity this semester. Stay tuned for future announcements and updates.
Remember that all students MUST Be in a supervised activity by 3:15pm. You will need a pass if arriving after this time. Once students leave the building, they will not be able to reenter.
