Good morning, Lincoln High! Welcome to LINKS LIVE!  The Lincoln High Morning News Show.   

I’m Avalena Baird, and I’m Jacob Vanderford

We have a lot of news for you today, so stay tuned.

 

Nebraska Wesleyan University will be here on Oct. 4th during 2nd pd. in the Counseling Center. Please get a pass from your 2nd pd. teacher to come visit with them.

Lincoln Graduation will be here outside of the Counseling Center TODAY and Friday during 5th pd. for graduating seniors to order their cap and gown. They will also be selling orders for graduation announcements and various senior items. The cost for the basic cap, gown, and tassel is $20.00. Don’t forget seniors to get your cap and gown orders in!

 

Today is sports:

Girls Varsity Golf will be playing at the Norfolk Country Club at 9:30 in the Heartland Athletic Conference Championships

Boys Reserve Tennis will face the Knights at Lincoln Southeast at 4pm

Freshman Football will travel to Lincoln Northeast. Kick off is set for 4:30

All levels of Volleyball will travel to Grand Island to play the Islanders. JV and Freshman play at 5:30 and Varsity and Reserve play at 6:30

 

Any boys interested in playing first session indoor soccer need to contact Coach Cerny As Soon As Possible in room 113 or through email. 

 

A reminder from the school treasurer: 

A list of fines has been posted outside the Associate Principal’s office.  If you are planning on attending Homecoming, your fines must be cleared before a ticket can be purchased; make sure to check the list if you are unsure if you have anything outstanding.  A reminder, if you had any fees or fines from another school, you are responsible for clearing those in addition to any from Lincoln High.”

 

First-round voting for homecoming royalty is this week using the following jumpcodes: Freshmen YTB4, Sophomores PDGF, Juniors YGRP, and Seniors YWB9

Nominations will be accepted now through Friday and second round voting will begin next Monday! 

 

Homecoming ticket sales will be next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during lunch and after school. Tickets are 5 dollars Tuesday and Wednesday and 7 dollars on Thursday. 

 

And remember the Spirit Week Themes for next week.

Monday is Groutfit day, so wear your favorite all-grey outfit. 

Tuesday is Preppy day. 

Wednesday is Western day. 

Thursday is Camo day. 

And Friday is links pride, so wear your red and black to support our Links and display unity.

 

And now here’s Tyler Schumacher from the Theatre Department: 

Come see Lincoln High Theatre’s family friendly Dracula: A comedy thriller starring Shirley Holmes and Jennie Watson. TONIGHT at 7:00 PM, Tomorrow also at 7pm and Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Ted Sorensen Theatre for 5$. Tickets are available from cast members, as well as at the door.

If you are planning on attending this year’s State Thespian Convention, forms are absolutely due to Ms. Thomas this Saturday by the end of strike. If you are on Technical Theatre or Improv team you are required to attend so make sure you are getting those in ASAP. If you have any questions about applications or convention as a whole feel free to contact your class representative or any member of the LHS Theatre Student Board! 

Auditions for the Lincoln High School One-Act play “Second Samuel are Tuesday and Wednesday, October 8 and 9, from 3:30-6:30  in the Ted Sorensen Theatre. Call Back Auditions will be held on October 10. Audition Forms are located in front of Room 217! Auditions are open to ANYONE wanting to showcase their acting/performance talents! (Actors, Dancers, Musicians, and Vocalists)

 

The STEM Program is excited to announce they will be hosting a one-day Mattress Fundraiser on Saturday, October 5th, from 10am – 5pm. here at Lincoln High.
