College Visits

Nebraska Wesleyan University will be in the Counseling Center TODAY during 2nd period. 

On Monday, The University of Kansas will be in the Counseling Center at 8:00 a.m., Iowa Western Community College will be here at 9:00 a.m.  Cornell College will be here during 4th period and The University of South Dakota will be here in the Counseling Center at 10 a.m. 

Get a pass from your  teachers to come visit with these colleges. 

 

TODAY is the last day to sign up for the African American Caucus field trip for seniors to The Fall Black Leadership Symposium at UNL. The trip is on November 6th.Email Miss Overstreet or locate her in room 136B periods 5-6 or after school. 

 

For anyone interested in participating in unified bowling, there will be a parent/participant meeting on October 10th at 5:30 in the media center.

 

And now here’s an announcement from Fellowship of Christian Athletes:

If you haven’t attended an FCA Morning Meeting yet, you’ll have another chance next Tuesday.  Plus, we’d like you to know about the absolutely FREE “”Fields of Faith”” event on Wednesday, October 9. If you have any questions about either, see Coach Droud or Coach Escamilla.

 

Today in sports:

Varsity Softball will be playing in the Heartland Athletic Conference Tournament at Veteran’s Field in Grand Island. First pitch is set for 10am

Varsity and JV Cross Country will be partaking in the LPS Championship at Pioneers Park. The first race starts at 4:00

Boys JV Tennis will face Lincoln North Star at the home of the Gators at 4:00

Varsity Football will travel to face North Platte at 7pm.

 

And on Saturday:

Reserve Volleyball will play in an Invitational at Benson starting at 8:00

Freshman, JV and Varsity Volleyball will all face Omaha Burke at Burke. Freshman play at 9:00, JV at 10:00, and Varsity at 11:00

 

Any boys interested in playing first session indoor soccer need to contact Coach Cerny As Soon As Possible in room 113 or through email. 

 

Lincoln Graduation will be here outside of the Counseling Center TODAY during 5th pd. for graduating seniors to order their caps and gowns. They will also be selling orders for graduation announcements and various senior items. The cost for the basic cap, gown, and tassel is $20.00. Don’t forget seniors to get your cap and gown orders in!

 

A list of fines has been posted outside the Associate Principal’s office.  If you are planning on attending Homecoming, your fines must be cleared before a ticket can be purchased. 

 

First-round voting for homecoming royalty is this week using the following jumpcodes: Freshmen YTB4, Sophomores PDGF, Juniors YGRP, and Seniors YWB9. 

 

Nominations will only be accepted TODAY and second round voting will begin Monday! 

 

Homecoming ticket sales will be next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during lunch and after school. Tickets are 5 dollars Tuesday and Wednesday and 7 dollars on Thursday.

Missed last night’s showing of Dracula: A comic thriller starring Shirley Holmes and Jennie Watson? Come TONIGHT at 7:00 PM or tomorrow at 2 pm at the Ted Sorensen Theatre for 5$. Tickets are available from cast members, as well as at the door.

 

If you are planning on attending this year’s State Thespian Convention, forms are absolutely due to Ms. Thomas TOMORROW by the end of strike. If you are on Technical Theatre or Improv team you are required to attend so make sure you are getting those in ASAP. If you have any questions about applications or convention as a whole feel free to contact your class representative or any member of the LHS Theatre Student Board! 

 

Auditions for the Lincoln High School One-Act play “Second Samuel are Tuesday and Wednesday next week, October 8 and 9, from 3:30-6:30  in the Ted Sorensen Theatre

Call Back Auditions will be held on October 10.

Audition Forms are located in front of Room 217!

Auditions are open to ANYONE wanting to showcase their acting/performance talents!

 

The STEM Program’s one-day Mattress Fundraiser is TOMORROW, from 10am – 5pm. here at Lincoln High. There will be over 30 beds on display for customers to try. Follow the conversation on Twitter & retweet our posts! #beds4STEM19
