Good morning Lincoln High! Welcome to LINKS LIVE! The Lincoln High Morning News Show!

I’m Liam Ducey and I’m Rodrigo Munoz

Attention Lincoln High Students- anyone interested in participating on Lincoln High Swimming and Diving Team should attend a short informational meeting today at 2:15, in the Lincoln High Swimming Pool. This will be a very brief meeting concerning those steps to be eligible to participate. If swimming and diving are of interest to you, please attend.

Chadron State College will be here in the Counseling Center on tomorrow, Wednesday during 4th period.

Everyone interested in Wrestling there will be a Mandatory Hydration Test on November 12th in the Athletic Training Room at 2:15pm. If you have any questions please talk to Coach Genrich.

Congratulations to all of the LHS debaters who competed at the Omaha Marian Novice Tournament this past weekend. Debaters placed and won speaker awards across all of the events they competed in, and developed valuable skills to help in future tournaments. Additionally, 15 debaters earned enough points to be inducted into the National Speech and Debate Association’s honor society.

Interested in joining debate, it’s not too late – stop by room s231 after school and talk with Ms. Freeman!

FBLA, HOSA, and Educators Rising clubs teamed up on Saturday to collect food for the Peoples City Mission. A big thank you to Alex Vodraska, Amber Schmeeckle, Sherivan Qizly, and Takirah Coleman for braving the cold and collecting 362 pounds of food!

Native American students, if you are going on the UNL Symposium trip on Nov. 14th, please turn in your permission slips to the Counseling Center or to Mr. Keller in Room 308 by the end of the day TODAY.

November is Native American Heritage Month. Here is your Native American History fact of the day.

In January of this year, Deb Haaland and Sharice Davids became the first Native American women elected to the U.S. Congress. Haaland is a 35th generation New Mexican who is an enrolled member of the Pueblo of Laguna, and also has Jemez Pueblo heritage. Davids is a member of the Ho-Chunk (Winnebago) people, and an enrolled member of the Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin. Both women serve in the House of Representatives.
