Good morning Lincoln High, Welcome to LinksLive! The Lincoln High Morning News Show.

I’m Evan Dang, and I’m Adam Al-Hilfy Leon

Central Community College will be in the Counseling Center during 3rd period on Thursday. Please get a pass from your teacher before you come to see them.

The Navy will be in the cafeteria during 5th period on Thursday. Please stop by their table if you would like to visit with them.

Here’s another fantastic announcement from Fellowship of Christian Athletes! If you’re looking for today’s movie quote, then here it is: “If nagging were an Olympic sport, my Aunt Voula would win a gold medal!” The first person to email Mr. Droud at <rdroud@lps.org> with the correct movie title will win a “fabulous” prize, so get those emails going!

DECA announcement

Please pick up honor roll and perfect attendance certificates from the main office (room 200) so you can proudly display them on the fridge tonight. Congratulations!

“Hello my name is Jena and I’m Riada and here is your Black History Fact of the Day.
According to History.com, George Washington Carver didn’t begin formal education until he was about 12. Carver received a full scholarship to Kansas’ Highland College, but when he showed up on campus to enroll, school administers refused to admit him–claiming they had been unaware of his race. When he was denied admission to college, he educated himself. Later he was able to enroll at Iowa State University being the school’s first black student and first African-American to earn his master’s in agricultural sciences in 1896. Beginning in 1906 Carver helped organize agricultural schools on wheels that traveled to help the lack of educational opportunities. He developed 300 derivative products from peanuts among them cheese, milk, coffee, flour, ink, dyes, plastics, wood stains, soap, linoleum, medicinal oils and cosmetics.
Thanks From African American Caucus Club!”

A reminder that Parent/Teacher Conferences are tonight from 4-7 p.m. As a result, we have several cancelations:

“Due to Conferences, there will be NO After School Groups TODAY and NO student dinner.

Please Note: The Media Center will also be closed after school and there are no extended hours for this evening in the library. Please plan accordingly.”
