Black History Month Fact of the Day 2/18/20

“Hello my name is Brandon and I go to Northeast. I am part of NAACP Youth Chapter. According to History.com, Maya Angelou was a poet, dancer, singer, activist, scholar and a world-famous author. Here I have a poem written by Maya Angelou. It says

When you come.
When you come to me, unbidden,
Beckoning me
To long-ago rooms,
Where memories lie.
Offering me, as to a child, an attic,
Gatherings of days too few.
Baubles of stolen kisses.
Trinkets of borrowed loves.
Trunks of secret words,
I CRY.”
