“The Lincoln Community Foundation offers student scholarships of all sorts. The LHS Art Department would specifically like to remind students that there are 3 scholarships related to art: the PINC Scholarship, the Haymarket Gallery Emerging Arts Scholarship, and the Jane T. Anderson Scholarship. Currently, no one has applied to 2 of the 3 scholarships…art students, don’t lose out on this opportunity!
Go to lcf.academicworks.com to learn more! The application deadline for all scholarships is March 15!

I’m Joanna Calel I’m a part of the NAACP Youth Chapter and this is your Black History Month fact of the day. Journalist and nurse Ruth Carol Taylor became the first African American airline flight attendant in the United States when she joined Mohawk Airlines on Feb. 11, 1958. While she is most commonly known for her achievement in the airline industry, she spent much of her career as an activist for minority and women’s rights.

“Here’s another fantastic announcement from Fellowship of Christian Athletes! It’s easy to understand how leaders can change the world, but what kind do you think it takes to really make a difference? Tomorrow at 7:15, in Room 402, FCA discusses “Three Types of Leaders,” which one you might be and the one who will have the biggest impact. We only meet for 20 minutes, or so, and are hoping to see YOU there!

All boys planning on playing soccer for Lincoln High this spring must attend a mandatory meeting about tryouts Thursday, February 27, at 3:15pm in the Athletic Conference Room (Room 157). We will go over the schedule, expectations, and requirements for tryouts which will start on Monday, March 2nd. Also, make sure you are getting physicals and paperwork done and turned into the athletic office prior to March 2nd. If you have any questions please contact Coach Cerny in Room 113.

On Thursday February 27th, there will be a meeting afterschool for anyone interested in playing baseball from 315-345 in the athletic conference room.

“All track athletes
Early track equipment check out will occur in the boys and girls track locker rooms after school on Wednesday, February 26th, Thursday, February 27th and Friday, February 28th.
In order to check out and compete you must have all of your parent forms completed, including a physical signed by a doctor for the 2019-2020 school year.
Track practice begins on Monday, March 2nd at 3:30 in the Athletic Conference Room. Make sure all your forms are completed and dress warm.”

A reminder that English After school Resource Center – ARC – meets TODAY – and every Monday and Wednesday – in Room #316 with Ms. Rennings from 3:15 – 4:15. Get the help you need to meet your academic goals from Lincoln High teachers! See you there!

There are no sports today, but the Girls Varsity Basketball Team heads to Districts tomorrow. They’ll be playing here at LHS, so come out and support them.
