The deadline is approaching for 2020 Scribe submissions! If you are a writer or artist of any kind and want to see your work published in this year’s edition of the LHS Scribe, fill out the Google form at GPYC. All works must be submitted by March 6th.

“The Music Man is coming! This year’s musical will take the stage this week. Shows are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Evening performances are February 27, 28 at 7:00 and a matinee on February 29th at 2:00.
Reserved seats are $5, or $15 for best views, and are available in advance online at tedsorensentheatre.ludus.com
Remaining tickets will be sold at the door via cash or credit or debit card.
You won’t want to miss it! Get your tickets now!”

Hey guys I’m Linda Kuku and a member of the NAACP Youth Chapter and I’m back with another Black History fact. In 1957 Althea Gibson was the first African-American woman to win Wimbledon and the U.S. Nationals for the Tennis Championship.Thanks for listening and learning.

The Air Force will be in the cafeteria during 5th period today.

And Union College will be in the Counseling Center 5th period tomorrow. Please get a pass from your teacher before you come to see the rep.

The Food Market is TOMORROW, February 26th in the cafeteria right after school! Simply come, fill a bag with free food of your choice, and take it home to your family! It’s as easy as that!

All boys planning on playing soccer for Lincoln High this spring must attend a mandatory meeting about tryouts Thursday, February 27, at 3:15pm in the Athletic Conference Room (Room 157). We will go over the schedule, expectations, and requirements for tryouts which will start on Monday, March 2nd. Also, make sure you are getting physicals and paperwork done and turned into the athletic office prior to March 2nd. If you have any questions please contact Coach Cerny in Room 113.

On Thursday February 27th, there will be a meeting after school for anyone interested in playing baseball. 315-345 in the WEST BALCONY. This is a change in location.

All track athletes:
Early track equipment check out will occur in the boys and girls track locker rooms after school on Wednesday, February 26th, Thursday, February 27th and Friday, February 28th.
In order to check out and compete you must have all of your parent forms completed, including a physical signed by a doctor for the 2019-2020 school year.
Track practice begins on Monday, March 2nd at 3:30 in the Athletic Conference Room. Make sure all your forms are completed and dress warm.”

There will be a Mandatory Wrestling meeting at 2:15pm in the Wrestling Locker Room Tuesday February 25th. If you have not checked in your wrestling equipment please bring that also. Thanks from Coach Genrich

Girls interested in playing soccer–Tryouts will begin on Monday, March 2. Please be sure to visit the athletic office to make sure you have all the appropriate forms filled out. You will need a physical to participate. Please be ready to be BOTH outdoors and indoors on Monday. Tryouts will begin in Johnson gym at 4:15 but will move to Beechner field at 5:15.
If you have not joined the classroom please do so. The classroom code is cjgiwf2″

Girls Varsity Basketball faces Omaha Burke TONIGHT in the first round of Districts here at Lincoln High starting at 6 p.m. Please come out to support this amazing team.

Wise Mind Project
Mind·ful·ness is a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique.
Wise Mind Project is a group that meets on Tuesdays after school to stress less, breathe more and practice mindfulness skills so you can tackle your goals!
We do fun activities like making stress balls, using guided imagery, and deep breathing.
Join us Tuesdays at 2:15 in 118 and begin to take on the world with your Wise Mind!

“Come experience Yezidi Culture this Friday, February 28th, from 3:30-6pm in the LHS Cafeteria for an event that will introduce you to the traditions of the Yezidi people.
Yezidi youth from LHS, Goodrich Middle School, and Park Middles school will present on traditional clothes, food, holidays and more about Yezidi culture!
This event is an open house with presentations at 4pm and 5:20pm. Please come for traditional tea and desserts accompanied by traditional Yezidi Music.
This event is FREE and open to the public.

The Professional Enrichment Program is partnering with Lincoln High School: we will be rearranging the Native American display in the first floor hallway here at Lincoln High. We are requesting your assistance to provide ideas, which will eventually be placed inside the updated display.
Tomorrow, during all 3 lunches, we will have brainstorming in 100G inside the media center. We invite you to come share with us your wonderful designs. This is YOUR school, and Your display. Let’s make this happen!
