At a moment when the rights of immigrants are being attacked, a fuller story needs to be told to address the harms perpetuated by immigration enforcement practices and policies that extend beyond the crisis at the border. Whether it’s through raids, people being picked up at the courthouses, or being forced to live in churches-families are being separated and attacked across America. Join Stand In for Lincoln Youth Chapter tonight at 7:00 pm till 9:00 pm in our school’s media center to watch Stories Beyond Borders: 5 short films to spark action for immigrant justice. $5 for adults and students are free.

Today’s after school opportunities include:

– Comic Creators Collective meeting in 135
– Yezidi Program meeting in Room 100L
– HOSA – Future Health Professionals meeting in Room South133
– LHS Step Chain IIG meeting in South230
– Young Life meeting in room 114 – this group will now be offered the first and third Thursday of the month!

[New After School Group Announcement:]
Starting next quarter, Once Upon A Code: Creative Coding and Community Storytelling, is a new after school group being offered at LHS CLC
When you think of storytelling, you may not think of art or technology as traditional mediums for doing so. In this club, students will dream up stories of all sorts by collecting the histories of people and places in, around, and near Lincoln High School and the surrounding South of Downtown neighborhood by taking tours and interviewing local members of the area, tell them through writing, photography, short video, drawing (or anything else in between!!) and learn how to build an interactive website to share these stories with basic front end web development coding languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Join us Thursdays afterschool in 100F to code your story starting March 19th!

A reminder that we are serving FREE dinner at LHS every Monday-Thursday night. Dinner is served and eaten in the LHS Cafeteria between 4:30-5pm.
Tonight’s menu includes:
Garlic French Bread Pizza with green beans and applesauce

And on the Lunch Menu today, we have:

ENTREE
Nebraska Thursdays
BBQ Chicken
Homemade Chili
Chef Salad
MEATLESS ENTRÉES INCLUDE
Mozzarella Cheese Sticks with Marinara Sauce
Meatless Chef Salad
AND A
Frosted Cinnamon Roll

That’s all for today. Remember that you can see all past episodes of our show on The Advocate Online website at LHSAdvocate.com and a list of all jump codes through the master jump code YZYR.

Thanks for watching our broadcast, and we’ll see you again next time on… LinksLive!
