Divers from all over the state came to the Bob Devaney Sports Center for the Nebraska State Diving Competition this week. Among the 25 state divers was one Lincoln High boy, Colin Farr. Farr, who transferred from Lincoln Southeast this year, was number one in the state moving into the state diving season. Farr also participated in the diving competition last year, placing second in the state, just above his brother Evan Farr, who placed third.
Farr managed to stay number one in the state with his score of 432.2 by edging out Skutt Catholic’s Easton Crouse (408.10) who placed second and Omaha Central’s Owen Johnson (403.60) who placed third.
The podium finished off with Papillon-La Vista’s Nik Kline in fourth, Elkhorn’s Enzo Morello in fifth, Millard West’s Ben Bognich in sixth, Pius X’s Nolan Sellhorn in seventh and Millard South’s Braxton Wright in eighth.
Other Lincoln high schools included in the top 16 were Lincoln East’s Cairo Mulu in 11th place and Lincoln Standing Bear’s Gus Rose in 13th place.
Lincoln High’s Sofia Palmieri competed today in her first state championship after only diving for four months, according to Coach Sharill Luedtke. Despite that, Palmieri placed 18th in the state for girls diving.
