With the fall play completed, we decided to interview 2 of the main cast for A midsummer night’s dream in the OC. Their names are Lola Chasek and Peshel Patentude. Chasek played Hermia, and Patentude played Lysander, also known as Lysol. They both joined theater because of the large and accepting community at LHS.
Chasek and Patentude both said they relate to their characters. Chasek has described using the same language as her character, using the word “like” a lot. Patentude describes his character as “Laid back,” and he emphasizes how he also is “laid back.”
Patentude’s first taste in Theater was in Theater Arts For Kids, or TAFK for short. He said that TAFK was a “Children’s based theater company” and was “slower paced” compared to the LHS Theater Department. He says he joined here because of the larger community.
I asked both of them for their advice for newcomers to the LHS Theater Department. Chasek says, “Just do it!” and says to follow your dreams. Patentude says the same that even if you have absolutely zero experience, you should try it at least once.
