Continuing a Lincoln High tradition, the One Act cast and crew of Euripides’ play “The Trojan Women” brought home a first place district trophy which qualified them to compete in the state competition on December 13th.
Although the play got third at State, Director Justin Holbein said, “According to the Nebraska Scholastic Activities Association we were the most professional and polite theatre group that had gone through all week.”
Holbein added, “The whole idea is just to get there. Whatever happens when you get there, you can’t control, but at Lincoln High we’re not about wins and losses; we’re about theatre.”
Not only did the group as a whole get third, but five actors got Superior Acting Awards. Those students were juniors Tom Witzki, and Kevin Tran, and seniors Abbie Austin, Madeleine Miller, and Lillian Bornstein. ”We were professional,” Holbein said.
“We were Lincoln High Theatre doing what we do.”
