Good morning, Lincoln High! Welcome to LINKS LIVE! The Lincoln High Morning Show. We’ll keep you up to date on everything happening at The High including sports scores, announcements, and other things you need to know throughout the school year!

If you have not picked up your Chromebook yet, you will be called to the West Gym today to pick it up. If you go to a Focus Program or TCA, you can stop in any time. Please be sure to have your ID or your student number. 

LifeTouch will be here today in the West Gym to finish taking Yearbook and ID photos. Students will be dismissed over sound throughout the day to go get pictures taken. 

Grab and Go Breakfasts are available from 7:30 am until 8 am. in the math office hallway between north and south buildings or by the health office room 110.  The cost is only $1.50 per meal with typically two entree options. You also can have milk and juice. A link to the Breakfast and Lunch menus is located on the LHS Daily News tab on The Advocate Online website at LHSAdvocate.com

Have you seen family or community members running local road races, 5Ks, or half-marathons and thought that you would want to give running a try? Do you want to be part of a team that doesn’t make any cuts and where everyone gets to compete every week? Do you really like to eat spaghetti? Well, if you could answer “yes” to any of those questions, then cross-country might be the right sport for you. Any athletes still interested in running cross-country this year should see Coach Rettig, Coach Bax, or Coach Manhart about becoming a member of the team as soon as possible.

Anyone from last year’s HOSA, that’s Club Days, After School, & our travel experiences, check your email today for information regarding Leadership opportunities for this year & application information.  Applications are due Monday at 3pm! See Mrs. Beck in S133 or Margaux Cruz with questions.

Lincoln High is now a Community Learning Center. This year we will be offering many of the same amazing after school opportunities, but we also have some new programs.  Check out the current opportunities online under the Activities tab on the LHS website or stop by the Family Resource Center (room 201) and chat with Chelsea Egenberger, the CLC director. 

All 9th graders that have a desire to play freshman football, come to the freshman locker room at the end of school located in the athletic hallway.

Attention Seniors – now is the final opportunity to apply to be an NHS scholar. Online applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28th.  All eligible students are encouraged to apply. If you have questions, please see Mr. West in room 335.

Any Junior or Senior interested in Work Experience credit must sign up by Friday, Aug. 16. You must already have a job. This is a great way to earn credits if you are already working. There will be a short meeting next Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 2:15 in room 212 to get your contract and other information.  Take advantage of the opportunity and sign up by FRIDAY, Aug. 16. You will sign up on your Chromebook using the jump code: BHYN         

Attention Speech Team VARSITY members: There will be a meeting next Monday after school in Room 302.  Again, Speech Team Varsity members meeting at 3:15 in Room 302 on Monday, August 19.  

LHS Theatre is proud to announce the 2019-2020 season productions.  Please visit the Marquees in front of the Ted Sorensen Theatre or look for Season Posters placed around LHS for the list of productions.  If you have any questions about the productions, or how you can be involved in LHS Theatre, you can contact Ms. Molly Thomas, Mr. Holbein, Theatre Board President Emma Harner or come to the LHS Theatre Board Meeting after school on Monday, August 19th for more information. Don’t miss out on your chance to audition for the fall play, Dracula:  A Comic Thriller Starring Shirley Holmes and Jennie Watson, Directed by Molly Thomas.  Auditions will be held on August 26, 27 and 28 from 3:30 to 6:30 in the Ted Sorensen Theatre.  Sign up and audition forms are outside the Tech Room, room #217 or on the table in front of Miss Thomas’ room, #301.

Any students interested in joining the Lincoln High Math Team, please sign up with Dr. Janike in room S126.  We will be meeting after school on Mondays starting next week and on club days.  The math team is for students who are interested in attending math competitions and using math to solve interesting questions.  

The library is open this week from 7:30 am until 4:30 pm. Extended hours start on Monday, August 19th.

Remember, if you’re a student who drives: the new teacher lot, on the north side of the building is for LHS STAFF ONLY. The spots are painted with numbers in the 800s. Please park in the student lot along Capitol Parkway so teachers may use their assigned parking spots. Thanks!
