Good morning, Lincoln High! Welcome to LINKS LIVE!  The Lincoln High Morning News Show.   

 

I’m Jacob Vanderford, and I’m Rodrigo Muñoz.

 

The University of Neb. at Lincoln (UNL) will be here on Wednesday in Room 300.

Please get a pass from your 2nd period teacher to come visit with them. Thank you!

 

The Army National Guard will be in the cafeteria tomorrow during the lunches. Stop at their table if you wish to visit with them.

 

Senior Parents/Guardians and Students are invited to the LHS Cafeteria ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 26TH FROM 8:15 – 9:00 AM for coffee, juice and donuts and to learn more about applying for the FAFSA and Financial Aid for College from RJ Vega, a representative from EducationQuest.

Please RSVP on the front page of the LHS Website. 

 

SENIORS! Remember that Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019 is the DEADLINE for submitting your SENIOR PHOTO for the YEARBOOK.

Visit the Yearbook Website for information about what kind of photo we need and how to submit it at jump code: YTYB

You can also see a list of the photos we have already received. Please check this list to make sure we have it and to make sure there isn’t a problem.

If you don’t submit a photo to us, we will use the LifeTouch photo you had taken at the beginning of the year for your school ID photo.

To avoid having to do that, the Lincoln High Yearbook Staff would be happy to take a head and shoulders photo of you FOR FREE! Contact us to set up a time to take the photo. lhsyearbook@lps.org

The Lincoln High Food Market will start Wednesday, September 25th in the north cafeteria. It will run after school until around 3:30 and is open to everyone. Please remember to take the food home before opening it.  

 

And now to Alex Martin with LHS Sports:

Varsity and JV Girls Golf will tee off at Highlands Golf Course at 9:00 in the LPS Championship

 

Varsity and JV Boys Tennis will face Lincoln Northeast at 4:00. Varsity is at Woods and JV is at Northeast

 

All levels of volleyball will host the Kearney Bearcats at LHS. Freshman and JV will play at 5:30. Varsity and Reserve will play at 6:30. The theme is Tie-Dye!

 

YMCA Youth and Government invites you to join their program year kick-off event on Saturday, Sept. 28th RIGHT HERE  in Lincoln from 10:30am – 3:30pm to learn more information on how to start a chapter at your school. Thespian Convention registration is out. You can pick up a form in front of 217. The entire form must be completed by Oct 5th by the end of strike. Please give your forms and payment to Ms. Thomas. Convention is January 2-4, 2020. Miss Thomas can be found before school in 301, during all 3 lunches in 217 and after school in the theatre area. Convention will be 2 overnights in Omaha at the DoubleTree with events at the Holland Center for the Performing Arts.

PICTURES ARE IN!! If you ordered pictures from Lifetouch please pick them up in the associate principals office 200F. Please grab them ASAP! Retakes will be on September 30th. Also, if you did NOT order pictures but would like to, you can still order online! Come to 200F for more info!

 

Festivus is THIS FRIDAY. YOU can be a part of the action with our annual Festivus Faculty/Student Feats of Strength Challenges. You can challenge a faculty member to the Inflatable Obstacle Course, the Padded Joust, and this year to the Football Toss! All you need to do is go to Jump Code Y6BO–that’s Y6BO–and fill out the Google Form. Contestants will be announced LATER THIS WEEK.  

 

Does your group have information you want everyone to know? Have your sponsor send us the information, or submit your own video for us to include in the morning broadcast. You can also stop by the LinksLive! Studio in Room 308 to film your announcement. 

 

Today’s After school Opportunities:

Yugi-O Players are taking over Games Galore Today! Other games can be played during this time, but we will have a student leading Yugi-OH. Beginners and Seasoned players are welcome to attend.

Intramural Basketball in South Gym

College Club meeting in Room 100F.

Untold Migrant Stories meeting in Room 100L

Homework Zone at 2:15 in the Media Center including English Tutoring starting at 3:15

 

All students MUST Be in a supervised activity by 2:15pm. You will need a pass if arriving after this time. Once students leave the building, they will not be able to reenter.

And a reminder that there will be a Lockdown Drill third period TODAY. Mr. Larson will make an announcement over sound sometime next period. Second period teachers please remember to show the video to your second period class right after this broadcast.
