Good morning Lincoln High. Welcome to LinksLIVE! The Lincoln High morning news show.

How’s everybody doing? It’s Friday. We made it through another week. Thanks for joining us.

I’m Mr. Keller still guest anchoring during the school closure and keeping you updated on the latest news about school and the coronavirus situation. Hope you’re all well.

A reminder that links to updates with all of this information are also available on the lps home page at lps.org
On today’s episode we’ll talk about the continuation of the school closure, the beginning of remote classes this coming Monday, NSAA sports and activities cancelations, and more messages from LHS staff (and their pets). We’ll also update you on Food Distribution and some CLC opportunities, so stay tuned. You can also check out the transcript below for quick reference.

Normally this would be a Music Friday. Today, why don’t you share your favorite playlist with us by emailing us at linkslive@lps.org. We’ll post your suggestions on The Advocate Online at LHSAdvocate.com.

Here’s today’s news:
On Wednesday, Nebraska governor Pete Ricketts announced that he is ordering schools to stay closed through the end of the school year. To be clear, what this means is that we won’t be returning to our school BUILDINGS for the rest of the school year, but we ARE still continuing with online and remote instruction starting this coming Monday, April 6th. School is not closed, the learning environment has only shifted. It’s important to stay connected and engaged during Remote Learning so you’re ready to move on to the next chapter when school resumes.

So please be sure to check the Google Classrooms for all of your classes to see what your teachers have prepared for you for next week and for the rest of the semester.

For complete information about grades for this semester, check out our episode from Wednesday, April 1st. The transcript has answers to your questions and links to other resources about mental health services, special education materials, as well as updates for seniors.

If you have questions, email your teachers or check out the LPS homepage at LPS.org.

The NSAA also announced that it is canceling all sports and activities for the rest of the school year as well. For more information, visit their website at: https://nsaahome.org/
