As the leaves start to turn red and pumpkins start to show up outside of stores, it is time to start to consider things to do in the fall. In summer it’s far easier to find things especially here in Lincoln. You can swim, go to a park, a lake, or the haymarket. But as it starts to get too chilly to be outside but not cold enough for hot chocolate and snow ball fights, it’s time to come up with some halloween or fall themed ways to keep busy.

Daily things to do
Some day to day things that you can do during the fall that don’t require another person include going to a cafe or making art with fallen leaves. A cafe seems like an all year thing, and it is, however during the fall you can sip on a hot pumpkin drink and enjoy it more than before because it will be more chilly outside.

Pumpkin Patches
Though Lincoln may feel boring, Roca and Vala’s are two really nice pumpkin patches that aren’t too far away. If you are looking for something less scary to do during the day, Vala’s has really cute activities such as hayrack rides, photo opportunities, and an apple orchard. In the apple orchard, you can pick apples or walk through and enjoy the view. At Roca Berry Farm, you can also enjoy daytime activities such as mazes, mini golf, and lawn games.

Halloween fun
Another perk of the pumpkin patches mentioned above is their night time activities. At Roca Berry Farm you can go through many different haunted houses, experience the haunted hayride, or simply hang out in the patch while scare actors roam around. Another fun thing to do throughout October is to prepare for halloween! Buying your costume or browsing ideas is a good way to get excited for the 31st. In Lincoln, a good place to do this is Spirit Halloween or, if you want to be creative you can go to Joann’s arts and crafts store or a clothing store and put something together yourself.
