There is a saying that comes with football: You either have the fundamentals, or you don’t.  You have the personality, or you don’t.  You want to be there, or you don’t.  You have it….or you don’t.

And so what if you don’t have it?  Well then you need to want it badly enough to be on the field everyday, ready to go.  What is it?

Everyday, football players are on the field working out, conditioning, correcting their technique, and learning discipline.  Then, during the day, they are expected to be in classrooms, keeping up with their school work.

I spent three weeks observing the team, listening at practices, and taking notes on what I saw and heard.  There was a lot of grunting, sweating, and yelling.  The whistles are pretty loud, too.  But there was also lots of laughter, and discipline.  Serious talks, scary moments, and brotherhood on and off the field.

“Every day is a new day.  Whatever problems ya’ll have with each other yesterday, don’t matter today,” says senior Dajon Thomas. “It’s the type of bond you don’t really know why you have, you just got it.”

Meet some of the players who just make this brotherhood possible, and hear what they have to say about each other.
