Good morning Lincoln High, Welcome to LinksLive! The Lincoln High Morning News Show.

I’m Rodrigo Muñoz.

All boys not in a winter sport who are interested in playing soccer this spring should attend a brief meeting Friday, February 7 at 3:15pm in room 157 (The Athletic Conference Room). We will discuss the remainder of the preseason, getting ready for tryouts, and what to expect for tryouts.

Anyone interested in playing boys golf this season, there will be a 5-10 minute meeting on Monday Feb. 10th in room 144 at 3:15.

“The celebration of Black History Month began as only a Week, which was created in 1926 by Carter G. Woodson, a noted African American historian, scholar, educator and publisher. It became a month-long celebration in 1976. The month of February was chosen to coincide with the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln.

February is dedicated as Black History Month, honoring the triumphs and struggles of African Americans throughout U.S. history, including the civil rights movement and their artistic, cultural and political achievements.

African American Caucus Club and NAACP Youth Chapter welcomes all staff and students to help celebrate Black History Month. There will be opportunities to get involved and more information to come throughout this month!”
The Army is in the cafeteria 5th pd Thursday. Please stop by their table if you would like to visit with them. Thanks!

English After school Resource Center – ARC – meets TODAY – and every Monday and Wednesday – in Room #316 with Ms. Rennings from 3:15 – 4:15. There are also ARC sessions for art, business, math, science, social studies, and world language classes, too. Get the help you need to meet your academic goals from Lincoln High teachers! See you there!
“Hello LINKS Community!

This Thursday the Lincoln High Community Learning Center invites STUDENTS, FAMILIES, STAFF, & COMMUNITY MEMBERS to come together as ONE community for a meal and conversation. We are calling this event Community LINKS Cafe which uses the Community Cafe Model to bring people together for intentional conversations.
Here is What To Expect:
Cafes are usually hosted by parents in a school community, however our cafe will be hosted by a student and a community partner. Hosts are there to set the space and intention so that everyone who attends discovers meaningful connection that unites us as a community.
No two cafe experiences are alike because they are driven by conversation of the individuals who are in the room! We hope that you and your family will be in the room for this engaging evening of food and connection. :
The Community LINKS Cafe is this Thursday February 6th from 6-7:30pm in the Lincoln High cafeteria. A free meal will be provided and ALL are welcome and encouraged to attend.
*Please note that due to this event there will NOT be a student meal served 4:30-5pm.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions. We are excited to host this event and hope to see you there!”

Good morning. This is Mr. Martinez, your school counselor, and this week, we are celebrating National School Counseling Week. One of my goals is to help you learn new skills to help you succeed. Facing your fears is one of those skills, and it’s one I have to practice, too.
Determination, self-confidence, and bravery – all of which are characteristics of resilience – can be hard. But being brave, determined and self-confident starts with standing up to fear. First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “We gain strength and courage by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face.” Or, as comedian Tina Fey put it, “You can’t be that kid standing at the top of the waterslide over-thinking it. You have to go down the chute.”

If you ever want to chat about your fears and ways to overcome them, feel free to stop by and talk to me. I’m here to help! And maybe I’ll tell you about a few of my fears, too.

Today’s Lunch Menu

Lemon Chicken on Brown Rice
