Halloween is the second most celebrated holiday in America, right behind Christmas. Lincoln High proved that on Halloween, 2011. Many students came to school with Halloween spirit this year, despite restrictions. Students were allowed to dress up, but they had to comply with the dress code.
Costumes ranged from a vampire, to a cow, and even a Pacman ghost. Halloween seems to be one of the most spirited holidays the school sees. Considering Halloween landed on a school day it made the holiday much shorter for us as high school students.
Freshman Ashlee Smith, dressed as a Pacman ghost. “It was last year’s costume, and I wanted it to be my this year’s costume,” Smith said. Freshman Angel Flores dressed as a “kitty” this year to show her Halloween spirit. Considering dress codes she likes that we are still able to wear costumes as long as they’re not, too, distracting. Sophomore Jasa Uhart lived on with her Misty costume from Pokémon. Everyone seemed super excited, and even some teachers passed out candy.
