Usually when fire alarms go off during class, students are glad for the distraction (or the opportunity to get out of a test). Today, however, with temperatures hovering around 18°, Lincoln High students and staff were more than reluctant to leave the warmth of the building. “Do we have to go?” was a common question in classrooms around the building.
Huddling in large groups, hiding behind cars, and just shivering to keep warm, students endured 20 minutes in the freezing temps this afternoon (most without coats or hats) until Lincoln Firefighters cleared the building.

According to an email sent out by principal Mike Wortman, “A pull station was activated when a snow ball hit it.” The student who threw the snow ball came forward and admitted that he had thrown it, Wortman added.
The Fire Marshall and LHS Administrators are continuing to investigate the situation.
