Lincoln High’s very own John Heineman has been honored as Nebraska Thespian Administrator of the Year Award by the Nebraska State Thespians. The ceremony will be on January 3, 2015 at the Nebraska State Thespian Festival at the University of Nebraska Lincoln where Heineman will be awarded his plaque.
The theatre students have written a letter that recognizes all of Heineman’s great virtues, all he does for the school and the theatre department.
“I’ve been involved with theatre for a long time,” IB/AP Coordinator, John Heineman said. “And after I became an administrator, I tried to keep that connection and be as supportive as I can.” Heineman taught theatre at Lincoln High in the past.
“Some of the students came and said they were going to nominate me,” Heineman said. “[When I received the award] I was very excited. I’ve been a thespian for many, many years and I know the great work that thespians do. So to be recognized by such a powerful and wonderful organization that does so much for kids and students, I was just humbled and honored.”
