If you’re ever a person who loves to get up and move ,work and interact with other people, express yourself through singing, and feel like you belong somewhere, then LHS Choir would be great for you.
Lincoln High has a very long history with singing, and they also have lots to offer. The history of LHS choir goes as far back as the 1800s where some groups includedthe Octets and Madrigals. Dorthea Gore was in the faculty of the music department at
Lincoln High directing the sophomore and junior girls glee.
Teaching them and having fun with them, they would go sing at churches. These days they perform for the school and others like going to local events. Reese Shriner said, “What inspired me was my 8th grade choir teacher.”
So from then then on his teacher told him to do it in high school. So Reese tried out in 8th grade and he is now in choir class.
We also asked Reese how he felt about choir and he said, “It’s really
fun.” I asked him what was so fun about it and he said “the teacher.”
We talked to some students and they said the director, Jessica Rajewich likes to take off her prosthetic leg and conduct students. She also likes to gather the students and show off her running skills. She is also a very great choir director they said.
Lincoln High has a fantastic choir with lots of songs and movements. They have students that have fun and love the class.
Stop by the choir room (130) to see about joining one of Lincoln High’s many choir groups.
