SKILLSUSA SHAPING LEADERS IN AMERICAS YOUTH

If you’re like most people Here at Lincoln High School then you probably don’t know what SkillsUSA is, let me explain. SkillsUSA is a great opportunity to learn work and study skills for industrial and skilled science to shape your future. For example, it will give you a chance to compete in automotive, welding, culinary arts, nursing, criminal justice, and construction.

“Well SkillsUSA is the best experience that I have ever had in my entire 17 years,” LNS senior, Felix Nguyen said.

“I’m not here to toot any horns or burst any bubbles, but SkillsUSA is definitely one of the most recognized clubs for skilled and technical sciences around the world. I have been around SkillsUSA for 4 years and I have loved every second of it. I have made it to Nationals 2 years in a row and plan on making it again this year in robotics.”

LHS alum Lee Carl (‘15) got a lot out of the club.

“SkillsUSA got me ready to become an auto tech and now I’m 3 years down with school and I’m an auto tech at Sid Dillon in Crete, it showed me to pursue what I really wanted to do in life and also showed me that leadership is a big part of everyday life.”

SkillsUSA is a great opportunity to become a leader and get ready for a skilled job. SkillsUSA makes presidents and CEOs not just employees! For example, Todd Baker at Bakers Candies was apart of SkillsUSA in the mid 1990s and now he owns the biggest and best chocolate/candy factory in the Midwest located in Greenwood, Nebraska. SkillsUSA is also a good opportunity for us to make the job gap a lot smaller because the baby boomers are going to retire soon and someone needs to fill their position.
