LPS’ mock election, for students in 4th through 12th grade occurred on October 30th, district wide, in all history classes. The results of the election went out on October 30th at 4:00 PM. These results showed that students favored Kamala Harris. Harris won the election with 50% of votes, followed by Donald Trump, with 45% of the overall votes, and Chase Oliver, our libertarian candidate, got 5% of student’s votes. Participants also voted on a senator that will have a 6 year term, a senator that will have a 2 year term, a representative in congress for district 1, and initiative measure 436. The candidate who won for senator was Dan Osborn. The results showed that Preston Love Junior won for the second senator pick. The congress representative that students chose was Mike Flood. Initiative measure 436 passed, with 82% of votes.
