“Zombie’s” Walk around Lincoln

By Michael Wilford

In the wake of the popular flim Zombieland’s cinematic release, on Saturday, October 10th  many “zombies” were walking all around downtown Lincoln. About 600 people showed up on Saturday to participate in Lincoln’s third annual Zombie Walk. The costumes of the participants were all very unique. They ranged from a zombie golfer with his clubs coming out of his back, to a zombie icons.  Zombies could not exist without helpless humans to terrorize; therefore, people could also sign up to be “victims” for the people to faux attack on their rampage across town. After they finished walking through downtown Lincoln, they held a zombie ball. There, the zombies could relax and dance their undead lives away. Many people went and had a great time. It was fun and everyone was very friendly, it was a great way to meet new people as well as see old friends.  As the event grows in popularity nationwide, the fourth annual Zombie walk will prove that it is an alternative way to have a “night on the town.”
