Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Basketball Team on their 62-38 win against Omaha Burke Tuesday night in the first round of districts! The Links take on Lincoln East AT Lincoln East TONIGHT as they advance in the tournament. Let’s show up in force to support this amazing team. The game starts at 7 p.m.

This is a district game, so no passes are accepted, but it’s only $5 for adults and $4 for students.

AND the FIRST 100 LHS STUDENTS will get in for FREE! Show your student ID and check in at the table for Lincoln High students. (You must NOT be on the ineligible list.) Help cheer on your Links girls basketball team TONIGHT at 7pm, vs. Lincoln East AT East. The theme for the game is BLACK OUT!!!”

The LHS Swimming and Diving team is competing at state today starting in just a few minutes at the Devaney Center. Good luck swimmers and divers!

This year’s musical, “The Music Man” will take the stage TONIGHT! Shows are at 7pm tonight and Friday, and there is a 2pm matinee on Saturday.
Reserved seats are $5 or $15 for best views and are available in advance online at tedsorensentheatre.ludus.com
Tickets will also be sold at the door via cash or credit or debit card.

There is a mandatory Boys soccer meeting TODAY at 3:15 in the Athletic Conference Room (Room 157). Tryouts start Monday, March 2nd. Get paperwork turned in before then. Any questions please contact Coach Cerny in Room 113.

There will be also be a meeting after school TODAY for anyone interested in playing baseball. 3:15-3:45 in the west balcony.

Early track equipment check out continues today and tomorrow in the locker rooms. Get your forms turned in, and get ready for practice which starts on Monday at 3:30 in the Athletic Conference Room. Dress warmly.

Girls soccer tryouts will begin on Monday, March 2. Make sure you have all the appropriate forms filled out. Please be ready to be BOTH outdoors and indoors on Monday. Tryouts will begin in Johnson gym at 4:15 but will move to Beechner field at 5:15. If you have not joined the classroom please do so. The classroom code has changed. It is now jxcped3.

“Come experience Yezidi Culture this Friday, February 28th, from 3:30-6pm in the LHS Cafeteria for an event that will introduce you to the traditions of the Yezidi people.
Yezidi youth from LHS, Goodrich Middle School, and Park Middle school will present information about traditional clothes, food, holidays and more about Yezidi culture!
This event is an open house with presentations at 4pm and 5:20pm, and it is FREE and open to the public.

Join us for time to gather and build on our strengths at the next Community Builder Workshop this Sunday March 1st at Lincoln Northeast High School from 12-3pm.
This FREE workshop will highlight work being done by youth and community residents making impact in their communities. Then we will have time for exploration of ideas and collaboration to make the impact you want to see in your community.
Free meal and childcare provided. Open to all students, staff, and community members.

The Inclusive Communities Workshop will be Tuesday March 3rd from 2:15 – 4:15 pm in room 102. This is a powerful and interactive workshop that focuses on gaining greater awareness and deeper understanding of our diverse and changing community. This opportunity is offered by Inclusive Communities in partnership with LHS CLC. Join us Tuesday March 3rd in room 102 after school to learn more about forming inclusive communities and more opportunities to dive deeper into this subject matter!

“Hello this is Larinda Gray with your Black History Month fact of the day. On April 5, 1947, Jackie Robinson became the first African American to play Major League Baseball when he joined the Brooklyn Dodgers. He led the league in stolen bases that season and was named Rookie of the Year. Thanks from African American Caucus!

“The NAACP Youth Chapter in collaboration with the International Quilt Museum invites you to see a pop-up exhibit “Celebrating Black Quiltmakers”” on Friday, February, 28th and Saturday the 29th, in the Byron & Sara Rhodes Dillow Conservation Work Room at the International Quilt Museum.
Visitors will see several works from their collection as well as a special display of new paper pieces made by NAACP Youth members.
The Museum is located at 1523 North 33rd Street and is showing this display from 10:00am-4:00pm.

Hey links, tonight is the final round of girls districts basketball. We will play the East Spartans at Sast. The theme of the game is blackout. Given that this is an in-town game, let’s make sure our student section represents well to cheer them on to a victory. If we win the girls will go on to compete at state!
The game tips off at 7. So wear your favorite black shirts and pants to another Lincoln High job well done.
