Halloween is a favorite and loved holiday of many. On Halloween you can express yourself by the way you dress. There are thousands of different costumes and ways to show your spooky side, goofy side such as a hotdog or your softer side such as dressing up as Pooh Bear! In reality you can be anything you please. During this Halloween season lots of amazing attractions start to open such as haunted houses, pumpkin patches, scary corn mazes and more! Here are some fun places:
Roca Berry Farm – the oldest and largest in Lancaster county. Open from Sept. 22nd – Oct. 31st from 9am- 7pm (day), For Roca Scary Farm (same location) tickets are for sell for $15.00 from 5pm – 9:30 on Fridays and Saturdays and from 5pm – 8:30pm on Sunday. Roca Berry is opened until every visitor is finished with every activity. Some attractions are, the haunted hayrack ride, the haunted manor, the psycho path, and Roca shootout! (Roca Berry Farm is closed on Halloween night)
Scary Acres – located on 17271 Gile rood Omaha Ne 6813. Contact them at (402) 896-9666 for any questions. Attractions are Masters castle, Haunted woods, and The house on the hills. Tickets are on sale at 7pm for $25.00, gates open at 6:30.
Thomas Farms – pumpkins, winter squash, Other squash 1446 39RD, Decatur, NE 68020. Phone: 402-349-5222. Crops are usually available in October. Open: call anytime October 1-30 call anytime Payment: Cash, Check. fall decorating needs–gourds, pumpkins, ornamental corn, winter squash, specialty pumpkins (red warty, buckskin, Cinderella, blue Hubbard)
Kiser Orchard – apples, berries, cabbage, cherries, cucumbers, green beans, melons, onions, pumpkins, sweet corn, tomatoes, miscellaneous fruits and vegetables. Located on 6105 Church Road, Plattsmouth, NE, 68048. Phone: (402) 298-8132. Directions: Farm located 4 miles west on Hwy 66, 3 miles south on 60th Street, 9 am to 6 pm. Also has a farmer’s market and a roadside stand.
Cox’s Pimkin Patch – Pumpkins, pony rides, hayrack rides, scarecrow contests, 5K and 10 mile runs. West of town, Champion, NE. Phone: (308) 882-4038. Open: October 20 to 21st, Patch open daily, 9am to 4pm. Directions: 5 miles west of town.
Fox Seasonal Farms – pumpkin patch- already gathered from the field, corn maze, haunted corn maze, child-sized haybale maze, tractor-pulled hay rides, gift shop, snacks and refreshment stand, restrooms, picnic area, birthday parties, school tours. Located on 43860 Paulsen Road, Broken Bow, NE 68822. Phone: 308-870-0685. Open: Saturday 10 am to 6 pm Sunday 12 pm to 6 pm The Country Store is Open Thursdays from 2 pm to 8 pm for Ladies Night Open Tuesday through Friday for School Tours Only
Lambert Melons – watermelon, apples, cantaloupe, cucumbers, eggplant, peppers, pumpkins, squash, sweet corn, tomatoes, located on 49343, 852 Road, Ewing, NE, 68735. Phone: (402) 482-5797.
Directions: From US 281 and US 95 intersection, 2 miles south, 1-½ miles east, hours vary, special sales advertised locally; Alco parking lot, O’Neill. Open: August – October, daily, 9 am to 5 pm, 1st and Main, Valentine, August – September, Thursdays, 9 am to 5 pm. Also has a roadside stand.
