Lincoln High hosted the 3rd annual International Baccalaureate (IB) Academy Day on Nov. 9th for middle school students to learn more about being an IB student.

These scholars experienced a day as an IB student where they took three sample classes to get a feel for being an IB student in high school.

At the Student Panel, they had a chance to ask questions of current IB students, and the parents had a Parent Panel.

More than 300  students attended the program, the largest group so far.
Senior IB student Sara DiMagno said, “IB is the most valuable thing I’ve ever done in High School. It has allowed me to study about different things in life and I would recommend it to someone.”

IB students take six core classes their junior and senior years in English, World Languages, Social Studies, Math, Science, and the Arts.  Students are also required to take a philosophy course entitled Theory of Knowledge, complete a 4,000-word research essay, and complete 150 hours of school involvement and community service.
