Greek Mythology Comes Alive on Stage

Greek+Mythology+Comes+Alive+on+Stage

By Ashley Epp

On the Night of October 6th, 7th, and the afternoon of the 9th, student actors of all high school grades flooded the stage decked out in elaborate togas attempting to get through the important Greek myths and Homer’s classic epic poems. In 99 minutes.
This year’s fall show, The

Iliad, The Odyssey, and All of Greek Mythology in 99 Minutes, was performed in the Ted Sorensen Theatre and was directed by Molly Thomas.
Working with a script full of goofy humor and “comic bits” the actors sped through the myths with great energy. Four narrators, who pushed through the books of the Iliad and Odyssey as the gods, heroes, and monsters entertainingly, cracked jokes about the text and characters.
The play brought in lots of incoming freshman and even upperclassmen that were new to the theatre experience.
