On his latest album HURRY UP TOMORROW he tries to make himself an overall better person and not depend on his past to keep him going forward. His album will turn one year old on January 31st. The weeknd will retire his stage name but he will continue making music under another name.
People says (The Weeknd clarified that he’s not planning to quit music. “I don’t think I can stop doing that,” he said. “But everything needs to feel like a challenge. And for me right now, the Weeknd, whatever that is, it’s been mastered.”) so he may not be done with music but he is done with “The Weeknd” as a whole but going by your real name is very smart, your home town will know you as a hero. It is not about the recognition though, it’s about the legacy he leaves behind.
What does he want to leave behind for his legacy? When will he stop once and for all with music? Right now his tour ends September 6th of this year, so what are we going to expect afterwards? We might know this year we might not. We shall see. We do know one thing about this question, he will appear sooner than you think.
Lets ask other people what they think. Azreil: “ he isn’t the biggest star but it’s been only two weeks into the year, the last thing he did was last year…just saying” Jaaron: “yeah he’s been relevant, he’s never not been relevant ever since he started.”
So how does any of this answer the question above. Is the weeknd relevant in 2026? The answer is up to you, however you interpret the paragraphs above it’s about what you think is about to happen and what you know what’s about to happen.
