Runza supports LPS media centers with donations

Runza supports LPS media centers with donations

Local Runza restaurants will donate 15% of sales on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014 to the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools to help purchase Golden Sower books for LPS Media Centers. “At LHS we typically get around $150.00 in free books from this event,” LHS Media Specialist Paula McClung said.

The Golden Sower Awards go to books that “stimulate children’s thinking, introduce different types of literature, encourage independent reading, increase library skills, and foster an appreciation for excellence in writing and illustrating,” according to the Golden Sower Award website. Nebraska’s young readers are encouraged by the organization to “visit their local public library or school library media center to find out how they can participate and vote in the Nebraska Golden Sower Award program.”

“So support Runza as they support us!” McClung added.
