My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is the fifth studio album by Kanye West, it is often regarded the best rap album of all time, with multiple hits coming from this album such as POWER, All Of The Lights, and Runaway. This album was released on November 22, 2010, and has many features including Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, Rick Ross, John Legend, Elton John, Pusha T, and Bon Iver. There are 13 songs on this album, here are my ranking of these tracks:
Dark Fantasy – 8/10, A beautiful first song with amazing vocals and a great start to this album
Gorgeous – 8/10, A great feature from Kid Cudi and Raekwon, with amazing rapping from Kanye, and a great beat to bring it all together beautifully.
POWER – 10/10, This is an amazing song, with great rapping, a beautiful beat, it really is an overall amazing song.
All Of The Lights (Interlude) – 8/10, Beautiful piano and a really amazing transition into the next track
All Of The Lights – 9/10, An amazing and catchy chorus from Rihanna, with amazing rapping, and an amazing beat to top it all off
Monster – 9/10, An AMAZING start, and then the verses from all of the features, just beautiful, and the beat makes it all flow together beautifully
So Appalled – 8/10, A great song, with amazing rapping from all of the features, and a great beat.
Devil In A New Dress – 10/10, A beautiful song front to back, this is one of the best rap songs I have ever heard in my life, the guitar right before Rick Ross’s verse is beautiful and fits the song perfectly.
Runaway – 10/10, When someone asks me to give them a perfect song, this is the song I give them, This is one of the greatest songs of all time, it has an amazing feature from Pusha T, and amazing singing and rapping from Kanye, the piano is beautiful, there is not a single flaw with this song, this is one of Kanye’s most vulnerable songs, and it is so beautiful and raw, I want to cry nearly every time I hear it, this is one of the greatest rap songs of all time.
Hell Of A Life – 9/10, This is an amazing song, honestly it’s hated on too much, an AMAZING instrumental, with great rapping, and the chorus is amazing as well.
Blame Game – 9/10, A beautiful song, with an outstanding chorus from John Legend, and amazing verses from Kanye, and beautiful singing from Both Legend and Kanye.
Lost In The World – 8/10, A very beautiful song, and when the beat comes, it becomes so much better, with amazing Vocals from Kanye and Bon Iver.
Who Will Survive In America – 9/10, A very beautiful instrumental, with a very powerful message, and a perfect song to finish this amazing album.
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is a beautiful album, there is not a single song on this album that I would give below a 8/10, this album is genuinely so beautiful, it is a masterpiece of an album, if you like Kanye or just music in general, I would highly recommend this album to you. This is an album that I will always regard as one of the greatest. Kanye West is one of the greats of music, and this album is an example of why he is, Kanye West really is a genius.This is one of the albums where you could just sit and listen, it is beautiful from the first second to the last. There is a lot of variety in this album, from the electric guitar and soothing instrumental in Devil In A New Dress, to the hard grunge beat in Hell Of A Life, even all the way to John Legend’s beautiful singing in Blame Game. No matter what you like there will be something in this album that will resonate with you.
