Students and staff gather in the Johnson Gym for the Homecoming Athletic Hall of Fame Pep Rally on Friday, Sept. 23, 2016.

By Frank Wickizer – This Friday is Homecoming for us at LHS and that means football. The Homecoming game will take place this Friday, September 23, 2016 at 6 p.m. The Lincoln High Links will be hosting the North Platte Bulldogs at Lincoln High’s own Beechner Field for this matchup. The history between these two teams goes far back, but most recently the Links suffered a brutal loss of 3 points last year in an overtime loss for the Links at Beechner Field. Hopefully this year, we will end up on top! For information on the student section theme, see a Student Council member for information or look for posters around the school.

Of course, as is tradition, the day of Homecoming includes the Fall Pep Rally that will excite us for the game, and for all the other fall sports and activities. The pep rally will begin at the end of fourth period and students are expected to move to the Johnson Gym with their fourth period class. Students will then proceed to fifth period after the assembly. For more information on the schedule check the featured image of this story. If you are a part of a sport or activity, be sure to contact your coach or leader for information as to if and/or how you are participating.
After the game, there will be the Homecoming dance, which will take place in the South Gym of Lincoln High. Students will enter through the South doors and there will be bag and coat checks along with photo opportunities, and of course, dancing. Remember that once you have entered the dance, you can’t come and go as you please, you have to go in and stay in or leave and stay out.
Like any other Lincoln High event, please be safe, be respectful, and be responsible at all times.
